These diesel engine & generator maintenance methods you must know!

Release time: March 06, 2023

To make the MLBE diesel engines and diesel generators work under great conditions, users and engineers must always focus on the products' status and running conditions.

Because great maintenance methods are significant for boosting product working performance and expanding the product's lifetime. Then what can you do?

These diesel engine & generator maintenance methods below you must know:

1. Diesel engine maintenance methods are divided into four levels

A level of the detailed maintenance method

(1) Daily maintenance:

1. Check whether the water or antifreeze in the water tank is in the required position;

2. Check whether the engine oil is at the specified oil level;

3. Check whether there is sufficient diesel in the diesel tank, ensure that the container and oil quality are clean, whether the oil supply valve has been opened, and confirm that there is no air in the diesel pipeline;

5. Check whether the circuit wiring of the electric starting system is normal and firm, whether the liquid level of the battery is normal, and whether it has been fully charged;

6. Check whether the mains circuit breaker is in the off state, and ensure that the mains and electromechanical do not overlap during the start-up and operation of the unit to avoid major accidents.

7. Check daily whether the diesel engine is damaged or leaked, whether the belt is loose or worn, check whether the connection of each rotating part is loose, and tighten it in time.

(2) Weekly maintenance:

1. Repeat the daily A-class diesel engine inspection.

2. Check the air filter and clean or replace the air filter core.

3. Release the water or sediment in the fuel tank and fuel filter.

4. Check whether the starting battery is fully charged.

5. Start the diesel engine and check whether it is affected.

B-level detailed maintenance methods

1. Repeat the daily and weekly inspections of Class A diesel engines.

2. Replace the diesel engine oil (the oil replacement cycle is 250 hours or one month)

3. Replace the oil filter (the oil filter replacement cycle is 250 hours or one month)

4. Replace the fuel filter element (the replacement cycle is 250 hours or one month

5. Clean or replace the air filter (the air filter replacement cycle is 500-600 hours)

C-level detailed maintenance method

1. Replace the diesel filter, oil filter, water and oil in the water tank.

2. Adjust the tension of the fan belt.

3. Check supercharger, rotor carbon deposit, bearing and impeller wear.

4. Adjust the oil nozzle lift and adjust the valve clearance.

5. Check whether the charger is standard.

6. Check the water tank radiator, clean the internal and external radiators of the water tank, and remove the scale and sediment in the water channel of the cooling water system.

7. Check the diesel engine sensor and connecting wires.

8. Check whether the various instruments of the diesel engine are regular.

D-level detailed maintenance method

1. Replace engine oil, diesel and engine circulating water.

2. Clean or replace the air filter.

3. Check the matching wear of valves, valve seats, push rods and rocker's arms, and perform grinding adjustments.

4. Check the fan and bracket, and adjust the belt.

5. Check the electrical wiring of the diesel engine.

6. Check or adjust the working condition of the electronic speed control.

7. Align the lubricating oil of the diesel engine and inject lubricating oil and grease.

8. Check the axial and radial clearance of the supercharger, and repair it in time if it is out of tolerance.

9. Clean and correct fuel injectors and fuel pumps.

2. Key maintenance time of diesel engine

Diesel filter element; the new machine should be replaced after 60 hours of accumulative use for the first time and every 250 hours thereafter

The oil filter element should be replaced after 60 hours of accumulative use of the new machine for the first time and every 250 hours thereafter.

The air filter element should be replaced after 300-600 hours according to the unit's operating environment.

Diesel engine oil The new engine should be replaced after 60 hours of accumulative use for the first time and every 250 hours thereafter. If not used frequently, replace it every six months.

Except for the proper maintenance, what makes MLBE diesel products different and why should we choose them?
